“halo=meh” Jaffe and Co. on Halo

Not one for throwing too many opinions on the site but i do find  the universal acceptance of Halo across the gamin g cosmos (this side of the pacific) as strange… now the famous (probably soon to be infamous) western designer David Jaffe (creator of Twisted Metal and God of War) has voiced a contrary opinion (slightly so…) during an aim convo and kindly posted it in the blogsphere for all to comment on and be offended about… click

New Puzzler from Square [DS]

It’s called Yosumin and looks to be simple yet addictive. There is an online demo (much the trend these days) so you can give it a go (if you are a square-enix member).

The basic premise is to make squares by clicking two like-colored pieces which will designate the two corners of the square. Click around the site to see a decent how-to-play.

Great Puzzle Website

Stumbled on this while looking for a Takoron Vid…

Passion for Puzzle seems to focus on all types of puzzle games regardless of the media (so console, portables, mobile as well as real world puzzles like rubiks cube…).

Also Nikoli is a great page (i think i linked to this already but can’t seemed to find my old post).

Tsumikiss Site [DS]

This looks like a very interesting (and hopefully fun) physics based puzzler.  More info available from this great site gamebrink. It seems the game is approved by a hungarian mathematician Peter Frankl - but that shouldn’t scare you, i’m sure the game is fun and simple to play. Check out the website here.

New Game from Katamari Creator [PS3]

Nobi Nobi Boy is the new title from katamari creator Keita Takahashi shown at the recent Playstation Premiere held in Japan. Not sure what the game is about but it features a wormy looking kid. Check out the screen shots here, here and here, which seem to be early but you never know! Hopefully more info will surface soon.

System 16 Sega Musuem

One of my favorite stops on the internet: System16’s Sega Museum. Great place to browse and learn about specs of the various hardwares. There are other museums available from the site’s root.

E3 News Clips

According to Bloomberg.com Microsoft Plans to Cut Xbox 360 Price in order to compete with the Wii sometime in the future. Microsoft’s Gaming division continues to lose money this time in the tune of 1.26 billion dollars. Some good news for Microsoft: 7 million XBLA online subscribers, 1 Million over forecast. Click Here for article.

Nintendo seems to have nothing but good news: They claim 2/3rds of a surging market; 30% women buy in over industy standard 22%, and a host of innovative hardware and software to win over the buying public (highlight being Wii Fit as i’m sure most of you have already heard). Click Here for article.
